Playing social games in Facebook has been a past time and a stress reliever. I have a lot of friends (even business contacts) in my network that constantly send me requests to add them as a neighbor to complete a task or move on to the next level. I’ve also been tempted (too many times) to buy game credits because I want to rescue my puppy from Farmville or get the latest decoration in Cafe World. It was all an expense until everything changed a few weeks ago.
It has almost been a month since I accepted a job to write for one of the top casual gaming websites, Gamezebo. The last few weeks felt like a roller coaster ride without the negative side effects. It has been fun and educational. I never thought that writing a few tips on my favorite social games would earn me some extra cash.
Yes, I earn from playing social games in Facebook by writing tips, quick start guides and walkthroughs.
When I started I thought it was a good way to earn a little bit of cash but it has been proven to be lucrative. The price per tip starts out low but it is dependent on your experience, the content you submit and turn around time. Being a blogger for years now was an advantage and negotiated a bit of a higher rate but was still average. The guide or walkthrough is the gold mine.
I am fortunate that they like what I’ve contributed. In just a matter of weeks, the number of games being given to me has increased, therefore my earnings have doubled.
Though I admit not a lot of people in my network know about this. Being a professional in different industries, gaming was far from what people expected from me. It was more of a personal activity than anything else.
After sharing my new hobby with a good friend, Janette Toral, she convinced me that I should start marketing myself as a social gaming blogger / writer and share what I’ve contributed. She sealed the deal when she wrote an article at Sun Star Cebu about how I started with my new found “sideline”.
With that being said, I will be posting the links of what have been published in Gamezebo on my main blog on a weekly basis for your reading pleasure.
